Hi!

Photographed by Julien Crespo

My name is Morgan Scott. I will graduate from Ringling College of Art and Design with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with a focus in photography and a minor in Business of Art and Design. Through a partnership with Ringling, I was selected to spend my junior year studying at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in Manhattan, New York, and graduated from ICP’s One-Year Certificate Program in May of 2024.

I discovered my love for photography at a young age. I was always taking photos of everything and everyone. I always wanted to share the way I saw the world with others. In seventh grade, I was gifted my saving grace in the form of a camera. It was as if I had been given a second set of eyes. I was enamored by what I saw through the viewfinder. Captivated by the fact that with just the click of a button, I could freeze a moment, I kept taking photos. When I realized I could turn my (what seemed at the time) hobby into a career, I did everything I could to make it possible.

I use photography as a medium to create a visual narrative and to tell my own story and the stories of others. I seek to challenge the viewer's perception and leave them questioning the way they see the world and others. Through my portraiture, I strive to show others the beauty that I see in them. I love the intimacy and vulnerability that exists when collaborating with other people. I always aim to make whoever I am working with feel comfortable and seen while also expressing a piece of myself through them in my work. With an interest in both fashion and advertising, I hope to pursue a career in that industry. I am always eager to learn more and to create!
