Walking on Trees
Walking on Trees is a series exploring my connection to my neighborhood, Brooklyn Heights, after discovering I resided in the very neighborhood my grandfather and great uncle grew up in as children. With the exterior urban landscape of New York City merged with the interior psyche I find in self portraiture, these images travel between past and present, heritage and self expression. Through the abstract use of light, shadow, and reflection, I delve into themes of family history, lineage, and self discovery as I retrace the footsteps of my relatives.
